  • La Vikidia francophone totalise plus de 29 000 articles.
  • La Vikidia anglophone totalise près de 3 000 articles.
    • Elle est tenue par DaneGeld (d • c) principalement.
  • La Vikidia italophone totalise plus de 6 700 articles.
  • La Vikidia hispanophone totalise plus de 4 800 articles.
    • Selon Tintle (d • c), la version hispanophone a connu une augmentation importante, notamment parce que des articles sur les jours, les mois et les années ont été créés. Dans le même temps, un nombre important d'articles de 2019 ont dû être supprimés faute de contenu de faible qualité rédactionnelle et/ou significatif. L'auteur de ces articles de faible qualité est actuellement bloqué. Néanmoins, Tintle (d • c) estime que l'utilisateur est de bonne foi et a des difficultés dans une bonne utilisation d'Internet.
    • La plupart des utilisateurs de la Vikidia hispanophone contribuent depuis le Mexique et certains depuis l'Espagne.
    • Tintle (d • c), pour sa première participation à ce type de réunion, tient à souligner tous les accomplissements réalisés sur la version hispanophone par la communauté. En décembre 2014, Tintle (d • c) avait trouvé une Vikidia hispanophone désordonnée, presque sans communauté. Ainsi, avec d'autres utilisateurs comme Rapunzel (d • c) ou Unapersona (d • c), le projet a été pleinement relancé. Cela s'est fait notamment par la création de nouveaux modèles, l'amélioration de l'aide aux utilisateurs novices et la réorganisation de l'espace communautaire.
    • Il existe une unique page [[Vikidia:Solicitudes]] pour les requêtes, quel que soit le statut disposant de l'outil requis (administrateur, bureaucrate, CheckUser, ...).
    • Techniquement, la version hispanophone a été particulièrement boguée et a nécessité le plus de temps aux sysadmins pour la maintenir. Cela serait toujours le cas à l'heure actuelle d'après Vivi-1 (d • c).
    • Vivi-1 (d • c) est heureux de voir son évolution dans le temps.
  • La Vikidia basquophone totalise près de 1 300 articles.

    • Tintle (d • c) dit au sujet de la Vikidia catalophone qu'elle est actuellement abandonnée faute de rédacteurs. Ceci est le cas de plusieurs autres versions linguistiques de Vikidia lancées sans base suffisante.

    • La Vikidia russophone, fermée depuis plusieurs années afin de la protéger du vandalisme, a ouvert de nouveau l'été dernier.
    • Selon Galdrad (d • c), la Vikidia russophone a connu une diminution importante de son nombre d'articles car nombre d'entre eux étaient des copier/coller de l'en-tête de la Wikipédia russophone. ** Galdrad (d • c) est l'actuel seul contributeur de la Vikidia russophone.
  • La Vikidia hellénophone totalise près de 50 articles.
  • La Vikidia sicilophone totalise près de 40 articles.

Galdrad (d • c) évoque une façon créative de contribuer à une autre version de Vikidia. Comme élève ou étudiant, on peut demander à un enseignant de se faire corriger son texte avant publication sur Vikidia (ce qu'il fait pour le russe).

Dans l'année, Tintle (d • c) et Rapunzel (d • c) ont composé un nouveau logo pour Vikidia. Rapunzel (d • c) aime les couleurs et les trouve appréciables pour les enfants.

Etnolire (d • c), Galdrad (d • c) et Skrizz (d • c) apprécient ce nouveau logo (bien qu'Etnolire (d • c) précise préférer l'ancien). Skrizz (d • c) le trouve accueillant pour les enfants. Ordo (d • c) estime que le logo ne met pas en valeur l'aspect encyclopédique de Vikidia. Techniquement, un changement de logo peut être effectué très rapidement selon Vivi-1 (d • c) comme sysadmin.

Plans d'action pour augmenter l'activité sur Vikidia

Le modèle de la version hispanophone pourrait techniquement être appliqué pour relancer les autres versions. Cependant, le problème serait l'acceptation de la communauté. Tintle (d • c) pense que les Anglais, par exemple, n'accepteraient pas.

Pour attirer des rédacteurs, Tintle (d • c) suggère de faire de la publicité sur Facebook, sur Twitter ou sur Instagram. Il précise que la version hispanophone aurait également besoin de publicité. Etnolire (d • c) pose la question de déposer un message sur les différentes versions de Wikipédia. Tintle (d • c) répond que la publicité sur Wikipédia est passible de blocage. Vivi-1 (d • c) ajoute que c'est déjà un problème sur la Wikipédia francophone. Gus ildirim (d • c) propose de contacter Tekkie Uni sur le ton de la plaisanterie. Quant aux Wikimedia, des contacts avec Wikimedia France sont tenus en passant par l'association. Tintle (d • c) a des relations conflictuelles avec l'équivalent hispanophone.

Idées de financement

Actuellement, le financement de Vikidia s'effectue :

  • Par les dons (Playpal ou carte bancaire).
  • Par l'utiliation de Lilo (à ce propos, Tintle (d • c) fait remarquer que l'image d'illustration du projet Vikidia aurait besoin d'une remise à jour (ancien logo, ancienne version)).
  • Par l'adhésion à l'association.

Une solution via uTip a été essayée un moment, mais cette piste a été écartée après quelques problèmes.

Gus ildirim (d • c) propose que la page Vikidia:Soutenir Vikidia soit traduite dans les autres versions linguistiques de Vikidia.

Vivi-1 (d • c) a introduit une idée datant d'il y a quelques mois sur l'utilisation de l'affiliation à Amazon. L'idée visait principalement la Vikidia francophone (communauté la plus active) et consiste à proposer aux visiteurs d'acheter des livres en ligne avec Amazon. Cette idée n'a pas encore été proposée à la communauté mais le sera. Vivi-1 (d • c) ne sait pas encore comment l'idée sera reçue et si elle marchera. Galdrad (d • c) fait remarquer que plusieurs articles sont fournis sur la Vikidia hispanophone. Tintle (d • c) est d'accord pour exposer sur l'idée dans la communauté hispanophone pendant que Vivi-1 (d • c) la propose à la communauté francophone.

Rapunzel (d • c) propose l'idée d'un Patreon. Selon Vivi-1 (d • c), la question devrait être posée à Magasin3 (d • c) (trésorier).

Skrizz (d • c) évoque l'idée d'une bannière comme celle de Wikipédia pour commencer une campagne de dons. Selon Vivi-1 (d • c), cette idée a été testée par le passé et n'a pas donné de résultat. L'explication est que le public de Vikidia n'a pas d'argent. Galdrad (d • c) rappelle que la bannière wikipédienne est très critiquée pour son agressivité, ce que partage Etnolire (d • c).

Autres sujets de discussion

Plusieurs versions de Vikidia sont victimes de spambots depuis de nombreuses années (2012 ?). On compte environ une trentaine de comptes par jour. Sur la Vikidia francophone, les modifications par les spambots sont bloquées par les filtres. Sur le Vikidia hispanophone, le problème des spambots a été résolu récemment après l'activation de filtres par Linedwell (d • c) à la demande de Gota de agua (d • c).

Rapunzel (d • c) a proposé l'établissement d'un lien vers Wikidata. Elle avait précédemment posé la question à propos de l'utilisation de l'extension Wikibase à cette fin. On lui avait répondu que l'installation de Wikibase sur les serveurs de Vikidia posait des problèmes. Cependant, l'établissement du lien vers Wikidata resterait possible sans Wikibase en utilisant l'extension LinkedWiki. Selon Rapunzel (d • c), un tel lien serait bénéfique à la Vikidia hispanophone. Il lui a été suggéré d'en parler avec les sysadmins Plyd (d • c), Linedwell (d • c) et Vivi-1 (d • c).

In the year, Tintle (d • c) and Rapunzel (d • c) composed a new logo for Vikidia. Rapunzel (d • c) loves colors and finds them nice for kids.

Etnolire (d • c), Galdrad (d • c) and Skrizz (d • c) like this new logo (although Etnolire (d • c) prefers the old one). Skrizz (d • c) finds it child-friendly. Ordo (d • c) believes that the logo does not highlight Vikidia's encyclopedic aspect. Technically, a logo change can be made very quickly according to Vivi-1 (d • c) as sysadmin.

Action plans to increase activity on Vikidia

The example of the Spanish version could technically be applied to revive other versions. However, the problem would be the acceptance of the community. Tintle (d • c) thinks the English, for example, would not accept.

To attract writers, Tintle (d • c) suggests advertising on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. He said the Spanish version would also need advertising. Etnolire (d • c) proposes to post a message on the different versions of Wikipedia. Tintle (d • c) responds that advertising on Wikipedia is liable to blockage. Vivi-1 (d • c) adds that this is already a problem on French Wikipedia. Gus ildirim (d • c) proposes to contact Tekkie Uni in a joking tone. About Wikimedia, contacts with Wikimedia France are held through the association. Tintle (d • c) has conflicting relations with the Spanish-speaking equivalent.

Financing ideas

Currently, here are the ways to support Vikidia :

Galdrad (d • c) has noted that there are some articles which are full on the Spanish Vikidia. Tintle (d • c) agrees to expose the idea in the Spanish community while Vivi-1 (d • c) proposes it to the French-speaking community.

Rapunzel (d • c) proposes the idea of ​​a Patreon. According to Vivi-1 (d • c), the question should be asked to Magasin3 (d • c) (treasurer).

Skrizz (d • c) refers to the idea of ​​a banner like Wikipedia's to start a donation campaign. According to Vivi-1 (d • c), this idea was tested in the past and didn't had any result. The explanation is that Vikidia's audience has no money. Galdrad (d • c) recalls that the Wikipedian banner is highly criticized for its aggressiveness, which Etnolire (d • c) shares.

Other topics

Several versions of Vikidia are victims of spambots for many years (2012 ?). There are about thirty accounts a day. On the French Vikidia, the modifications by the spambots are blocked by the filters. On the Spanish Vikidia, the problem of spambots has been solved recently after the activation of filters by Linedwell (d • c) at the request of Gota de agua (d • c).

Rapunzel (d • c) proposed establishing a link to Wikidata. She had previously asked the question about using the Wikibase extension for this purpose. She was told that the installation of Wikibase on Vikidia's servers was problematic. However, linking to Wikidata would still be possible without Wikibase using the LinkedWiki extension. According to Rapunzel (d • c), such a link would be beneficial to the Spanish Vikidia. It was suggested to discuss this with sysadmins Plyd (d • c), Linedwell (d • c) and Vivi-1 (d • c).
