Indricotherium est le plus grand mammifère terrestre ayant existé. Indricotherium veut dire « animal d'Indrik », un homme légendaire avec une force herculéenne.
Indricotherium vivait en Asie au cours de l'Oligocène. Proche des rhinocéros, il mesurait plus de 5 m de haut, 8 m de long pour 15 t. Les petits étaient la proie des prédateurs, tels l'Andrewsarchus ou l'Hyaenodon. On l'appelle aussi le Baluchitherium ou le Paraceratherium.
